At TCL, we don’t just deliver endless entertainment and smart home appliances. Our commitment extends well beyond.
Today, making the earth a better place to live through responsible environmental stewardship is of critical importance. That’s why we are taking comprehensive steps in every area of our operations, to ensure a sustainable future. We are committed to the search for more responsible solutions, and for even more reliable and sustainable products, by allocating dedicated resources to research and development.

TCL products meet or exceed environmental regulations, and we continue to enhance oversight of the manufacturing process to remove hazardous substances, keep conflict minerals out of our supply chain, reduce energy usage, advocate green packaging and increase the volume and quality of our electronics recycling programs.

TCL wants to make its environmental commitments and actions more central to its strategy, so that it can play a truly useful and effective role in preserving the planet.

TCL Electronics adopts green and innovative requirements to examine the packaging materials and methods of its products.

Taking the environmental dimension of our packaging a step further

TCL Electronics tries its best to use harmless, pollution-free, renewable and green packaging materials instead of plastic packaging materials, but also wood packaging materials to provide more modern, economical, durable and green packaging solutions. In addition, the paper packaging materials we use can lessen the weight and volume of our products, increase the number of containers, and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation of goods. We require the suppliers to properly recycle and reuse the packaging paper cartons, cardboards and plastic turnover boxes when providing raw materials and products to the Company, which effectively reduces the consumption and waste of packaging materials.

While we boost the capabilities and performance found within our products, we are aware that what’s on the inside and outside of our TVs needs to be designed conscientiously. We’ve always designed our packaging with safety, fit, and the environment in mind but in 2022 we’ve challenged ourselves to go above environment requirements and recycling regulations. From now on, we have decided to design and use only kraft packaging without glossy effect and too many colours to avoid using glue but also to limit ourselves to one white ink colour to ensure less or no chemical pigments are used.

TCL’s photovoltaic materials are already exported to more than 60 countries and regions

Investment in the photovoltaics sector to produce cleaner and greener energy

At TCL, we are invested in the photovoltaics sector to produce cleaner and greener energy to help reduce greenhouse emissions.

The global photovoltaic market continues to improve, with an intensified competition in the silicon wafer industry worldwide, but it is estimated that TCL's installation capacity will reach 225GW in 2022 and its product strength and operational strength will become some key differentiators in the market.

TCL’s photovoltaic materials are already exported to more than 60 countries and regions, including Europe, Australia, South Korea, Japan and other countries.

TCL first released proprietary G12 monocrystalline silicon wafers, which have higher photoelectric conversion efficiency and effectively reduce the cost of the entire industry chain. Now this technology is applied to silicon wafers, solar cells, modules, power stations and other products. Silicon is the second most abundant element in the earth's crust, constituting 26.4% of the total mass of the earth's crust. And monocrystalline silicon is one of the purest substances in the world, a carrier of semiconductor chips, and a core material for photovoltaic power generation. This combination has the advantages of high power, high efficiency, high reliability, etc., which effectively reduces LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy) and facilitates clean energy.

In the future, TCL will adopt a global strategy to focus on large-scale solar plants and the DG (distributed generator) market. The company will continue to strengthen its own advantages, continue to increase the scale of production, reduce investment in unit equipment, and improve efficiency through technological innovation.

TCL’s goal is to become a leading brand in the global DG market, and to become one of the best component manufacturers for reducing LCOE in the global Utility Power Plant market.

TCL is proud to support the Polar Pod scientific expedition

In line we our “Inspire Greatness” vision, we are committed to the search for more responsible solutions, and for even more reliable and sustainable products, by allocating dedicated resources to research and development.

As a technology leader, in France, TCL is proud to support the Polar Pod scientific expedition, led by the famous French doctor and explorer Jean-Louis Etienne to explore the Southern Ocean and transmit new data or long-term observations to researchers, oceanographers, climatologists and biologists. As a sponsor of the expedition, TCL France is providing financial support to the Polar Pod teams and will promote this great expedition to the public.
